Mohanlal will be given Lieutenant Colonel rank by the Defence Force. Defence Minister A.K. Antony signed the orders on Saturday. The territorial Army confers this rank to those who involved in patriotic movements.
Mohanlal is getting the rank for his performance in Major Ravi's Keerthichakra and Kurukshethra. In both the films he has donned the role of an Army Chief who has uplifted the pride of Indian Army.
Lal would be given a training by the Territorial Army at the parade ground in Kannur under the guidance of Madras Regiment, one week before the award ceremony.
