ഇന്ത്യന് സിനിമയിലെ ബിഗ് ബിയായ അമിതാഭ് ബച്ചനും മോഹന്ലാലും മലയാളത്തില് ഒരുമിക്കുന്നു. ലാല് തന്നെയാണ് ഈ രഹസ്യം വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയത്. മേജര് രവിയുടെ അടുത്ത ലാല് ചിത്രമായിരിക്കും പ്രതിഭകളുടെ സംഗമത്തിന് അരങ്ങൊരുക്കുക എന്നാണ് സൂചന. മേജര് രവി ചിത്രത്തില് ബച്ചനെ സഹകരിപ്പിക്കാനായി ശ്രമങ്ങള് നടന്നു വരികയാണെന്ന് തിരുവനന്തപുരം പ്രസ്ക്ലബ്ബിന്റെ മുഖാമുഖം പരിപാടിയില് മോഹന്ലാല് പറഞ്ഞു.
ഇപ്പോള് ‘മാടന്കൊല്ലി’ എന്ന ചിത്രം ഒരുക്കുന്ന തിരക്കിലാണ് മേജര് രവി. ഇതിനുശേഷമായിരിക്കും ലാല് പ്രൊജക്ട്. ഷോലെയുടെ റീമേക്കായ രാംഗോപാല് വര്മയുടെ ആഗില് ബച്ചനും ലാലും ഒരുമിച്ച് അഭിനയിച്ചിരുന്നു.
ബച്ചനെ പോലുളള ഒരു താരത്തോടൊപ്പം അഭിനയിക്കാന് കഴിയുന്നത് ഭാഗ്യമാണെന്ന് ലാല് കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്ത്തു. ഉത്സവ സീസണുകളില് അന്യസംസ്ഥാന-വിദേശ ചിത്രങ്ങള് കേരളത്തില് പ്രദര്ശിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിന് നിയന്ത്രണം ഏര്പ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിനെ കുറിച്ച് കൂട്ടായ ചര്ച്ചവേണമെന്നും ലാല് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു.
മറ്റു സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളില് ഇത്തരം നിയന്ത്രണം നിലവിലുണ്ട്. അയല് സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളില് നിന്നുള്ള സിനിമകള്ക്ക് നിരോധനം ഏര്പ്പെടുത്താനാകില്ലെങ്കിലും കേരളത്തിലെ നിര്മാതാക്കള് ഒന്നിച്ചിരുന്ന് ഇക്കാര്യത്തില് എന്തു നിയന്ത്രണം കൊണ്ടുവരാനാകുമെന്ന് ചര്ച്ച ചെയ്യേണ്ടതുണ്ട്.
സിനിമയുടെ നിര്മാണച്ചെലവ് കുറച്ചുകൊണ്ട് മലയാളസിനിമയെ നഷ്ടത്തില് നിന്ന് കരകയറ്റാനാവില്ല. കഥ ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്ന ബജറ്റിലേ ചിത്രമെടുക്കാനാവു. അവതാര് പോലൊരു ചിത്രം കണ്ടില്ലെങ്കില് നാണക്കേടാണെന്ന് പറയുന്നവരാണ് നമ്മള്. ആ സിനിമ അത്രയും റിച്ചായി പെര്ഫെക്ഷനോടെ എടുത്തതുകൊണ്ടാണ് അത്തരമൊരു വികാരമുണ്ടാവുന്നത്. നല്ല കഥകള് സിനിമയായാലെ മലയാള സിനിമയ്ക്ക് പിടിച്ചു നില്ക്കാന് കഴിയൂ എന്നും സൂപ്പര്താരം പറഞ്ഞു.

Mohanlal to invite Bachchan to act in Malayalam movie
Malayalam superstar Mohanlal today said he would request Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan to act with him in a Malayalam film directed by noted film-maker Major Ravi.Yes, we will be inviting him (Bachchan) to act in a film.We hope he will not reject the invitation, Mohanlal,an ardent Big-B fan, said when reporters sought his reaction to Bachchan expressing a desire to act with him in a Malayalam movie.The actor said he expected that Bachchan, despite his busy schedule, would find the time to do a role in the film by devoting one or two days for it.Mohanlal, who was last year conferred the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in Indian Territorial Army, said the film would be another Army-based work by soldier-turned film-maker Major Ravi, whose earlier movies like Keerthichakra, Kurukshetra and 'Mission 90 Days' were well-received.Looking back on his career, entering its 30th year in 2010, the actor said he was been lucky to have done a lot of memorable characters well received by viewers in the last three decades.It is a fortune and a blessing that I have been able to do a lot of good roles.I owe it to producers, directors and writers who chose me for such roles, he told a meet-the-press here with the director and artistes of his recently released 'Ivitam Swargamanu .

അന്യഭാഷാചിത്രങ്ങള്ക്ക് നിയന്ത്രണം വേണം -മോഹന്ലാല്
ഉത്സവ സീസണുകളിലും മറ്റും കേരളത്തിലെ തിയേറ്ററുകളില് അന്യഭാഷാചിത്രങ്ങള് റിലീസ് ചെയ്യുന്നത് നിയന്ത്രിക്കാനായി കൂട്ടായ തീരുമാനമുണ്ടാകണമെന്ന് നടന് മോഹന്ലാല്. തന്റെ പുതിയ ചിത്രമായ 'ഇവിടം സ്വര്ഗമാണി'ന്റെ പ്രദര്ശനത്തിനുശേഷം നടന്ന മുഖാമുഖത്തില് സംസാരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു മോഹന്ലാല്.
'അവതാര്' പോലുള്ള വിദേശചിത്രങ്ങള്ക്ക് ഉത്സവസീസണുകളില് തിയേറ്റര് കിട്ടുമ്പോള് മലയാളചിത്രങ്ങളെയാണത് ബാധിക്കുന്നത്. ഇത്തരം റിലീസുകളുടെ കാര്യത്തില് കൂട്ടായ ചര്ച്ചകള് നടത്തി തീരുമാനമെടുക്കണം. സൂപ്പര്താരങ്ങള് കൂടുതല് പ്രതിഫലം വാങ്ങുന്നതാണ് മലയാള സിനിമയുടെ പ്രതിസന്ധിയെന്ന് കരുതുന്നില്ല. നല്ല സിനിമകള് ഉണ്ടാകാന് മുതല്മുടക്കും കൂടും.നിലവാരത്തോടെ ചിത്രീകരിച്ചില്ലെങ്കില് സിനിമ ഉദ്ദേശിച്ച രീതിയില് സംവദിക്കില്ല. താന് എത്ര കാശ് വാങ്ങണമെന്നത് എന്റെ മാത്രം തീരുമാനമാണ്. പലപ്പോഴും കാശ് വാങ്ങാതെ അഭിനയിച്ചതും അങ്ങനെതന്നെ. തങ്ങള്ക്കിണങ്ങുന്ന പ്രതിഫലം വാങ്ങുന്നവരെ സംവിധായകന് വിളിക്കാം - മോഹന്ലാല് പറഞ്ഞു.
കേരളത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ പ്രശ്നങ്ങളിലൊന്നായതിനാലാണ് ഭൂമികച്ചവടത്തെ മുന്നിര്ത്തി 'ഇവിടം സ്വര്ഗമാണ്' ഒരുക്കിയതെന്ന് സംവിധായകന് റോഷന് ആന്ഡ്രൂസ് പറഞ്ഞു. ഭൂമി ക്രയവിക്രയത്തിലെ കുരുക്കുകള് സാധാരണക്കാരെ ബോധ്യപ്പെടുത്തുകയാണ് ഈ ചിത്രമെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു. ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ തിരക്കഥാകൃത്ത് ജെയിംസ് ആല്ബര്ട്ട്, നിര്മ്മാതാവ് ആന്റണി പെരുമ്പാവൂര്, നടന് ശങ്കര്, നടി പ്രിയങ്ക തുടങ്ങിയവര് പങ്കെടുത്തു.

കാസനോവയില് നാല് നായികമാര്
റോഷന് ആന്ഡ്രൂസ്-മോഹന്ലാല് ടീമിന്റെ കാസനോവയുടെ ചിത്രീകരണം ജനുവരി രണ്ടിന് ദുബായില് തുടങ്ങുന്നു. പത്ത് കോടിയുടെ വന് ബജറ്റില് ഒരുക്കുന്ന ചിത്രത്തില് മോഹന്ലാലിന്റെ നായികയായെത്തുന്നത് ബോളിവുഡിന്റെ ഗ്ലാമര് ഡോളായ സമീര റെഡ്ഡിയാണ്.
സമീരയ്ക്ക് പുറമെ റോമ, ലക്ഷ്മി റായി ഹണി റോസ് എന്നിവരും കാസനോവയിലുണ്ടാകും. മമ്മൂട്ടിയുടെ പോക്കിരി രാജയില് ശ്രീയ നായികയാകുമെന്ന വാര്ത്തകള്ക്ക് പിന്നാലെയാണ് മറ്റൊരു മുംബൈ താരം കൂടി മോളിവുഡിലേക്കെത്തുന്നത്. തമിഴില് അജിത്ത് നായകനാവുന്ന അസല് പൂര്ത്തിയാക്കിയതിന് ശേഷമാണ് സമീര മലയാളത്തിലേക്ക് തിരിയുന്നത്. നേരത്തെ സൂര്യയുടെ വാരണം ആയിരം എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിലും സമീര അഭിനയിച്ചിരുന്നു.
മലേഷ്യ അല്ലെങ്കില് ബാക്കോക്ക് ആയിരിക്കും കാസനോവയുടെ മറ്റൊരു പ്രധാന ലൊക്കേഷന്. മോഹന്ലാല് കാസിനോവയുടെ ലൊക്കേഷനില് ജനുവരി ആറിന് ജോയിന് ചെയ്യുമെന്നാണ് സൂചന. ആദ്യം കോണ്ഫിഡന്റ് ഗ്രൂപ്പ് ഒറ്റയ്ക്ക് നിര്മ്മിയ്ക്കാനിരുന്ന ചിത്രം സാമ്പത്തികകാരണങ്ങളാല് നീട്ടിവെച്ചതായി റിപ്പോര്ട്ടുകളുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.ഇപ്പോള് കോണ്ഫിഡന്റ് ഗ്രൂപ്പിനൊപ്പം വൈശാഖ് എന്റര്ടൈന്മെന്റ്സ് കൂടി ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ നിര്മാണത്തില് സഹകരിയ്ക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ ഷൂട്ടിങ് തുടങ്ങുന്നതുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് വൈശാഖ് രാജനും കോണ്ഫിഡന്റ് ഗ്രൂപ്പ് റോയിയും കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം ചര്ച്ച നടത്തിയിരുന്നു.
ഹിന്ദിയും കന്നഡയും പറയാന് ആടുതോമ
മലയാളത്തിന്റെ സൂപ്പര്ഹിറ്റ് ചിത്രം ‘സ്ഫടികം’ ഹിന്ദിയിലേക്കും കന്നഡയിലേക്കും റീമേക്ക് ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഹിന്ദിയില് സംവിധായകന് ഭദ്രന് തന്നെയാണ് റീമേക്ക് ചെയ്യുന്നതെങ്കില് കന്നഡയില് സാധു കോകിലയാണ് റീമേക്കിനു പിന്നില്. ഹിന്ദി റീമേക്കുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് ഭദ്രന് ഇപ്പോള് മുംബൈയിലാണ്.
യൂണിവേഴ്സല് സ്റ്റാര് മോഹന്ലാല് അനശ്വരമാക്കിയ ആടു തോമയാകാന് ഹിന്ദിയിലെ നമ്പര് വണ് താരങ്ങളെയാണ് ഭദ്രന് പരിഗണിക്കുന്നത്. സല്മാന് ഖാന്, ഹൃത്വിക് റോഷന് എന്നിവരെ സമീപിച്ചതായി സൂചനയുണ്ട്. ഹിന്ദിക്ക് യോജിച്ച രീതിയില് സ്ഫടികത്തിന്റെ തിരക്കഥ ഭദ്രന് മാറ്റിയെഴുതിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
കന്നഡയില് ആടുതോമയാകുന്നത് സുദീപാണ്. ‘മിസ്റ്റര് തീര്ത്ഥ’ എന്നു പേരിട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ സിനിമയില് ശലോണിയാണ് നായിക. മലയാളത്തില് സില്ക്ക് സ്മിത അവതരിപ്പിച്ച കഥാപാത്രത്തെയാണ് ശലോണി കന്നഡയില് അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്.
‘വീരാപ്പ്’ എന്ന പേരില് നേരത്തെ തമിഴില് സ്ഫടികം റീമേക്ക് ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. സുന്ദര് സി നായകനായ ആ ചിത്രത്തില് ഗോപികയായിരുന്നു നായിക. എന്നാല് സ്ഫടികം സൃഷ്ടിച്ച തരംഗം വീരാപ്പിന് ആവര്ത്തിക്കാനായില്ല. അതുകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ ഹിന്ദി, കന്നഡ റീമേക്കുകളുടെ ബോക്സോഫീസ് ഫലമറിയാന് കാത്തിരിക്കുകയാണ് സിനിമാലോകം.
1995ല് പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ ‘സ്ഫടികം’ മോഹന്ലാലിന് ഒരു പുതിയ ഇമേജ് സമ്മാനിച്ച ചിത്രമാണ്. തിലകന്, സില്ക്ക് സ്മിത, ഉര്വ്വശി, നെടുമുടി വേണു തുടങ്ങിയവരായിരുന്നു പ്രധാന താരങ്ങള്. ആ ചിത്രത്തില് ‘കുറ്റിക്കാടന്’ എന്ന വില്ലന് കഥാപാത്രത്തെ അവതരിപ്പിച്ച ജോര്ജ്ജ് എന്ന നടന് ഇപ്പോള് ‘സ്ഫടികം ജോര്ജ്ജ്’ എന്നാണ് അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്.
സ്ഫടികം സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത ഭദ്രനാകട്ടെ ഇപ്പോള് മലയാളത്തില് ചിത്രങ്ങളൊന്നും ചെയ്യുന്നില്ല. 2005ല് പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ ഉടയോനാണ് അദ്ദേഹം അവസാനം ചെയ്ത സിനിമ. മമ്മൂട്ടിയെ നായകനാക്കി ഭദ്രന് ഒരു പ്രൊജക്ട് പ്ലാന് ചെയ്തെങ്കിലും അത് നടന്നില്ല. ശക്തമായ ഒരു തിരിച്ചുവരവിനായി ശ്രമിക്കുന്ന ഭദ്രനെ സ്ഫടികത്തിന്റെ ഹിന്ദി റീമേക്ക് രക്ഷിക്കുമെന്ന് പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കാം.

ക്രിസ്തുമസ് ദിനത്തില് വളരെ പ്രതീക്ഷയുള്ള ഒരു മനസ്സുമായി തന്നെയാണ് ഇവിടം സ്വര്ഗമാണ് കാണാനിറങ്ങി പുറപ്പെട്ടത്.ഉദയനാണുതാരം,നോട്ട്ബുക്ക് എന്നീ രണ്ട് മികച്ച സിനിമകള് മലയാളത്തിന് സമ്മാനിച്ച് മലയാള സിനിമയില് തന്റേതായ വ്യക്തി മുദ്ര പതിപ്പിച്ച റോഷന് ആന്ഡ്രൂസും ക്ലാസ്മേറ്റ്സ്,സൈക്കിള് തുടങ്ങിയ ചിത്രങ്ങളിലൂടെ പ്രേക്ഷകശ്രദ്ധ നേടിയ തിരക്കഥാകൃത്ത് ജെയിംസ് ആല്ബര്ട്ടും(ജെയിംസ് ചേട്ടന് കൊല്ലം സ്വദേശിയായതില് ഞാന് അഭിമാനിക്കുന്നു)ആദ്യമായി ഒന്നിക്കുന്ന സിനിമ-എന്ന പരസ്യം വന്നതു മുതല് തന്നെ ഞാന് നല്ലൊരു സിനിമയ്ക്ക് വേണ്ടി കാത്തിരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.അത്കൊണ്ട് തന്നെ സിനിമ ഇറങ്ങുന്ന ദിവസം ആദ്യത്തെ ഷോ തന്നെ കാണണമെന്ന് വാശിയിലാരുന്നു ഞാന്.
ക്രിസ്തുമസ് ദിവസമായതുകൊണ്ടാകണം ആള് ലേശം കുറവായിരുന്നു.ടിക്കറ്റ് കിട്ടാന് പ്രയാസമുണ്ടായില്ല.അധികം അഹങ്കാരമില്ലാത്തോണ്ട്(സത്യത്തില് കാശു കമ്മിയായതുകൊണ്ടാണ്.അതെങ്ങനാ പുറത്ത് പറയുക)30 രൂപ ടിക്കറ്റില് താഴെയാണ് ഇരുന്നത്.
ഫാന്സ് കൂടുതലായത് കൊണ്ട് കോലാഹലങ്ങള്ക്കും കുറവുണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.ഈ ബഹളങ്ങളൊന്നും ഇല്ലാതെ എന്തോന്ന് പടം കാണല് എന്റിഷ്ടാ..
റോഷന് ആന്ഡ്രൂസിനും ജയിംസ് ആല്ബര്ട്ടിനും നല്ല വരവേല്പ്പായിരുന്നു.ഈ കയ്യടി അവസാനം വരെ കാണണെ എന്നാരുന്നു മനസ്സില്.
സാധാരണ തുടക്കമായിരുന്നു.പ്രിയങ്ക അവതരിപ്പിച്ച ടി.വി ജേര്ണലിസ്റ്റിന്റെ കഥാപാത്രം മോഹന്ലാലിന്റെ മാത്യൂസ് എന്ന കഥാപാത്രത്തെ തേടിയെത്തുന്ന സീനായിരുന്നു ആദ്യമെ തന്നെ സിനിമയിലേക്ക് പിടിച്ചിരുത്തിയത്.മാത്യൂസ് ഒരു ഡയറി ഫാം ഉടമയാണ്.ടി.വി ജേര്ണലിസ്റ്റിന്റെ പ്രശസ്തയായ അമ്മയുടെ പഴയൊരു ശിഷ്യനും.നമ്മള് പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഒരു ഡയറി ഫാമില് എന്തു കാണാനാ എന്ന ചിന്താഗതിയോടെയാണ് ടി.വി ജേര്ണലിസ്റ്റും എത്തുന്നത്.കുറച്ച് പശുക്കളെയും വൃത്തിഹീനമായ പരിസരവും കാത്തിരിക്കുന്ന നമ്മള് ആദ്യ 10 മിനിട്ടിനുള്ളില് തന്നെ സ്വര്ഗത്തിലെത്തുകയാണ്.ന്യൂസിന് ഒരു സ്കോപ്പും കാണില്ല എന്നു കരുതിയ ടി.വി ജേര്ണലിസ്റ്റിനെ പോലും ആ സ്വര്ഗം ഞെട്ടിച്ചു കളഞ്ഞു.ഭൂമിയിലെ സ്വര്ദമായിരുന്നു അത്.പെരിയാറിന്റെ തീരത്ത് കണ്ണുകളെ പിടിച്ചിരുത്തി കളയുന്ന ഒരു ഫാം ഫൗസ്.ഒരു കുടുംബം അവിടെ പശുക്കളെ ജീവനു തുല്യം സ്നേഹിച്ച് കഴിയുന്നു,മാത്യൂസും കുടുംബവും.ഒരു ഫാം ഫൗസിന്റെ ഉടമയാകണമെന്നായിരുന്നു ചെറുപ്പം മുതല്ക്കെ മാത്യൂസിന്റെ ആഗ്രഹം.ജീവിതത്തോട് പൊരുതി അത് സഫലീകരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.മാത്യൂസിന്റെ ജീവിതം പശുക്കള്ക്കൊപ്പമാണ്.
മാത്യൂസ് പെണ്ണുകാണാന് പോകുന്ന സീന് മുതന് സിനിമയില് കോമഡിയും വര്ക്കായി തുടങ്ങുന്നു.
ടി.വി യിലൂടെ പുറം ലോകമറിയുന്ന മാത്യൂസിന്റെ സ്വര്ഗത്തെ വിലക്കെടുക്കാന് ചാണ്ടിയെന്ന ഭൂമി കച്ചവടക്കാരന് എത്തുന്നതോടെയാണ് കഥ മാറുന്നത്.ആ ഭൂമിയില് ആശുപത്രിയും ഷോപ്പിങ് കോപ്ലെക്സുകളും വരുമെന്നും അവിടം പതുക്കെ ഠൗണ് ഷിപ്പാകുമെന്നും വിഡ്ഢികളായ ഗ്രാമവാസികളെ ചാണ്ടി തെറ്റി ധരിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.ഗ്രാമത്തിലെ ജനങ്ങള് മിക്ക സിനിമകളിലും എല്ലാര്ക്കും തട്ടാവുന്ന പന്താണല്ലോ.മാത്യൂസ് പക്ഷെ തന്റെ മണ്ണ് വിട്ടുകൊടുക്കാന് തയ്യാറാകുന്നില്ല.
ഭൂ മാഹിയയ്ക്കെതിരെ ഒരു സാധാരണ കര്ഷകന് നടത്തുന്ന പോരാട്ടങ്ങളുടെയും അന്തിമ വിജയത്തിന്റെയും കഥയാണ് ഈ സിനിമ.അതിന് പുതിയൊരു ട്രീറ്റ്മെന്റാണ് സംവിധായകനും തിരക്കഥാകൃത്തും നല്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്.അതാണ് ഈ സിനിമയെ വേറിട്ടു നിര്ത്തുന്നതും.
ലാലു അലക്സ് അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ചാണ്ടി എന്ന വില്ലന് കഥാപാത്രം പുതിയൊരു അനുഭവമായിരുന്നു.മലയാളിയെ ഏറെ രസിപ്പിക്കുന്ന വില്ലന്.സിനിമയിലെ താരവും ചാണ്ടി തന്നെ.
വ്യക്തമായ രാഷ്ട്രീയമുള്ള സിനിമയാണിത്.കേരളം ഭരിക്കുന്നത് ഭൂ മാഫിയകളാണ് എന്ന പച്ചയായ സത്യം നമ്മോട് വിളിച്ചു പറയുന്നു.കൊടി ഭേകമെന്യേ എല്ലാ പാര്ട്ടിക്കാരും അവരുടെ ഒത്താശക്കാരാണെന്നും.സത്യത്തില് ഇന്നത്തെ കേരത്തില് അരങ്ങേറുന്ന സംഭവങ്ങള് തന്നെയാണ് ഈ സിനിമ വായിക്കുന്നത്.ആസിയാന് കരാറും സാമ്പത്തിക മാന്ദവുമെല്ലാം കഥയുടെ ഭാഗമായി വന്നു പോകുന്നുണ്ട്.

മോഹന്ലാലിന് എംജി ശ്രീകുമാറിനെ പേടി!
സൂപ്പര് താരം മോഹന് ലാലും ഗായകന് എംജി ശ്രീകുമാറും സ്കൂള് കാലം മുതലേ സുഹൃത്തുക്കളാണ്. പറഞ്ഞിട്ടെന്താ കാര്യം. സൂപ്പര് ഗായകനെ തനിക്കിപ്പോള് പേടിയാണെന്നാണ് ലാല് പറയുന്നത്. സംഗതി വേറൊന്നുമല്ല. ശ്രീകുമാര് സീരിയലില് അഭിനയിക്കാന് പോകുന്നു. ആങ്കര്, ഗായകന് എന്നീ രീതികളില് ഇപ്പോള് തന്നെ ടെലിവിഷന് മേഖലയിലും സിനിമാ മേഖലയിലും പ്രശസ്തനാണ് ശ്രീകുമാര്. അപ്പോള് പിന്നെ അഭിനയ രംഗത്തേക്കും കക്ഷി കടന്നാലോ?

ചലച്ചിത്ര പിന്നണി ഗായകനെന്ന നിലയില് 25 വര്ഷം പൂര്ത്തിയാക്കിയ എംജി ശ്രീകുമാറിനെ ആദരിക്കാനായി തിരുവനന്തപുരത്ത് സംഘടിപ്പിച്ച ‘മലയാളത്തിന്റെ ശ്രീക്കുട്ടന്’ എന്ന ചടങ്ങിലാണ് മോഹന്ലാല് തന്റെ പേടി വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയത്. എന്നാല് ലാല് പേടിക്കേണ്ടെന്നും തല്ക്കാലം സിനിമയിലേക്കൊന്നുമില്ലെന്നും പറഞ്ഞ് ശ്രീകുമാര് ലാലിനെ സമാധാനിപ്പിച്ചു.
“സിനിമയിലേക്കില്ലേ എന്ന് ചോദിച്ചാല് തീര്ച്ചയായും സിനിമയിലേക്കുണ്ട്. എന്നാലത് ക്യാമറയ്ക്ക് മുമ്പിലേക്കല്ല, പിന്നിലേക്കാണെന്ന് മാത്രം” - ശ്രീകുമാര് നയം വ്യക്തമാക്കി.
മോഹന്ലാലിനെ നായകനാക്കി ഒരു ചിത്രം സംവിധാനം ചെയ്യുന്ന കാര്യം താന് ഗൌരവമായി ആലോചിക്കുന്നുണ്ടെന്ന് ശ്രീകുമാര് വെളിപ്പെടുത്തി. പ്രിയദര്ശന്റെ കാഞ്ചീവരം പോലൊരു ചിത്രമാണ് ലാലിനെ നായകനാക്കി ഒരുക്കാന് താന് പ്ലാന് ചെയ്യുന്നതെന്നും എംജി വ്യക്തമാക്കി. സ്കൂള് സുഹൃത്തുക്കളുടെ സംഗമമായി മാറിയ ചടങ്ങില് പ്രിയദര്ശന്റെ അസാന്നിധ്യം ശ്രദ്ധിക്കപ്പെട്ടു.

M.G. Sreekumar may direct film
Playback singer and composer M.G. Sreekumar plans to direct a film in the coming year with Mohanlal in the lead. “I am planning to make a film like ‘Kancheevaram’ and I want Mohanlal to play the lead,’’ Sreekumar said at a press conference called to brief the media about the music extravaganza on Thursday evening to mark the 25 years of the singer’s career.
Mohanlal, who was at Sreekumar’s side, just smiled at Sreekumar’s offer. He said he was worried about Sreekumar’s entry into acting. Mohanlal announced that M.G. Sreekumar was all set to debut in a serial. ``Soon, I fear, he will make an entry into films,’’ Mohanlal said, tongue firmly in cheek.
Actor Manian Pillai Raju, who was also present during the occasion, too pulled Sreekumar’s legs. ``What I hear is that Srekuttan has already purchased a make-up box,’’ Raju said.
A smiling Sreekumar then said Mohanlal and Raju needn’t worry as he had no plans to act in films. ``But I would like to direct a film like ‘Kancheevaram’ with Mohanlal in the lead,’’ he said. Director Priyadarshan and cinematographer S. Kumar, too, were supposed to attend the event, but could not. Priyadarshan was held up because of a delay in flight. The star-studded silver jubilee programme, titled ‘Malayalathinte Sreekuttan: Sangeetha Jeevithathinte Rajatha Jubilee’, was held at the Pattom St Mary’s School.

Ganesh replaces Arya in Mohanlal film
Ganesh Venkatraman, who performed brilliantly in 'Unnai Pol Oruvan', has been signed up to play an important role in Mohanlal's next.
Arya, who was finalised for the role, backed out later as he got a call from his mentor Bala. And the chance went to Ganesh, who debuted in Kollywood with Radha Mohan's 'Abhiyum Naanum' and shot to limelight with just his second film, 'UPO'.
Ganesh had shared a great rapport with Mohanlal when they were working for 'UPO'. Hence, Mohanlal had no hesitation to suggest the other's name for the important role.
Arya was to have acted in Mohanlal's 'Casanova', directed by Rosshan Andrews. But, the project was shelved in the beginning itself due to financial constraints. Mohanlal and Rosshan combined to make 'Ividum Swargamaanu', scheduled to release this Christmas.
Now, when they have decided to revive the project, Arya got an offer from Bala, who made him an actor to reckon with his 'Naan Kadavul'. The actor, very keen to establish himself in Kollywood, could not resist the offer from Bala, says our source.

Ivide Swargamannu film censored!
Mohanlal and Mammootty’s big budget Christmas releases, Rosshan Andrews directed Ivide Swargam Aannu and Shafi directed Chattambinadu respectively have been cleared by the Thiruvananthapuram censors on Tuesday Dec 22.
Both the films have been given ‘U’ certificates with minor dialogue cuts. Mammootty’s Chattambinadu releases on Thursday, December 24 in 80 screens. Mohanlal’s Ivide Swargam Aannu releases on Christmas day, December 25 in almost same number of screens.
It will be the first time in many years the two towering superstars of Malayalam cinema will be clashing at the box-office for the opening weekend.
Unnaipol Oruvan team is back!
Arya was to have done a Malayalam project with Mohanlal but has decided against it. The actor once again has preferred director Bala, who gave him a break in Naan Kadavul. The Sarvam star has decided to shift base from the Mohanlal project to that of Bala’s. Sources also say that Arya is keen to establish himself in Kollywood and hence decided on quitting the Malayalam project.
With Arya opting out, Mohanlal has recommended the Unnaipol Oruvan actor Ganesh Venkatraman for the role. It may be recalled that both Mohanlal and Ganesh Venkatraman were part of Kamal’s UPO.

Ananya in Mohanlal's 'Shikaar'
'Nadodigal' fame Ananya will play the female lead in Mohanlal's 'Shikaar', directed by M Padmakumar. The Superstar will start shooting for the film once he completes his 'Cassanova', directed by Rosshan Andrews.
The thriller revolves around the intense relationship between a father and his daughter. Mohanlal plays the lovable father and Ananya, his daughter.
S Suresh Babu has penned the script for the movie. 'Shikaar' will be shot in the rustic locales of Andha Pradesh. This is the first time Mohanlal attends a shoot in AP.

Mohanlal hesitate to do small roles
Mohanlal hesitate to do small roles in films. He was supposed to do a prominent role in the movie Mummy and Me, directed by Jithu Joseph, but now quits from it. Instead the director has cast action hero Suresh Gopi in place.
The movie Mummy and Me cast others like Mukesh, Kunchacko Boban, Urvashi and Archana Kavi. It seems that Mohanlal is unhappy for the flop of Angel John movie, where he did a small but a prominent role.
