Mohanlal celebrates a quiet birthday

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal Thursday celebrated his 49th birthday without any fanfare at a hotel in between the shooting of his latest film.
Friends close to the actor said Mohanlal was not keen on any celebrations as he had lost his father-in-law recently.

Character artiste and a close friend of the superstar, Jagdeesh said: “I also act in the film and more importantly being a close friend of Lal, I am happy that I was with him. I wish that he goes on to achieve greater glory and also wish that I be with him when he celebrates his next birthday too.”

The only celebration was a cake cutting ceremony, in which the entire unit of the film “Alexander The Great” took part. Mohanlal is a veteran actor and has more than 300 films to his credit.

Bhagavan, the latest mohanlal film which is shot in a short 17 hours released today. Bhagavan is a below average movie and has nothing in it. The only positive things in the movie are the theme and the presence of Mohanlal . Bhagavan is a movie which conveys a message against terrorism. As different from the news there is no cammando operations in the movie.

The negatives of the movie are poor directon, unwanted songs , weak dialogues and some repeated scenes. With his first movie ,Prashant Mampully showed that he has to improve a lot. Another problem of the movie is the some unwanted casts in the movie. I prefer you not to watch the movie.

Superstar Mohanlal's upcoming movie Alexander The Great will have the latest heroine in Malayalam film industry, Aswathy Ashok as it's lady lead. This new Mohanlal starrer will be directed by Murali Nagavally who have directed the star earlier for his first movie Wanted.

Alexander The Great is considered to be a comical racy entertainer in which Mohanlal will play Alexander Varma, son of a Malayalee father and an Anglo Indian mother. The movie evolves around the strong relationship between Alexander and his brother.

The new heroine of this film Aswathy Ashok is currently in a cloud nine due to the fact that her very second film at the industry will be with none other than Superstar Mohanlal. Even though her first film Moz And Cat didn't do well at the box office, her performance in the film was appreciated all around.

Shooting for the film, Alexander The Great will start by the third week of May. Wishing all the best to Aswathy Ashok and the crew behind this Mohanlal starrer.

Bhramaram Shooting Completed

Bhramaram is the latest movie from Mohanlal- Blessy team. The latest news about the movie is that the shooting of the movie is completed. Bhramaram is Blessy's second film with Mohanlal.
Bhramaram has been completed in 52 days, shooting at different locations, in Kerala and in Tamil Nadu. The locations of Bhramaram include Coimbatore, Pollachi ,Nelliyampathi, Marayur, Peerumedu, Ernakulam etc .

'Bhramaram' is a thriller movie and the first road movie in malayalam. The film also features Bhoomika, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Suresh Menon and V.G.Murali Krishnan (the son of Bharath Gopi) in key roles. Bhramaram is produced by Raju Mallyath and Zulfikkar, the film features cinematography by Ajayan Vincent, lyrics by Anil Panachooran and music by Mohan Sithara. Blessy and his team are now getting ready for the post-production work. The film will be brought to the theatres by Max Lab Entertainments.

Bhramram is considered as one of the expected movies of 2009.The movie is expected to release by june last(June 25th).

Unnai Pol Oruvan is Kamal Hassan's latest tamil movie.The movie is the tamil remake of the bollywood film "The wednesday". The most important thing about the film is that the most acclaimed actors of indian cinema ‘Kamal hassan’ & ‘Mohanlal’ are joining in this film.

In the film Unnai Pol Oruvan, Mohanlal is doing a role of Police officer named IG Raghavan Marar. Kamal Haasan plays the role of a stranger who plants bombs across various parts of the city and threatens police commissioner (Mohanlal) he would blast the entire city if he doesn’t release the most wanted criminals in town.

Kamal Haasan introducing his daughter Shruthi Haasan who scores music for this film. Chakri an ad filmmaker based in US is the director of the film. Chakri is none other than a guy who appeared in Kamal Haasan’s ‘Dasavatharam’.

The film Unnai Pol Oruvan will be completed within next month, but the release date is slated for August 12.

Mohanlal Sings again in Blessy's Bhramaram.

Mohanlal the greatest and the complete actor of malayalam film industry is now comes again as a singer through his latest movie Bhramaram. Mohanlal is not a trained singer but he has got the tallent for that. Here's the superstar once again in his singing avtar. Mohanlal has recently sung and recorded a song for his forthcoming film 'Bhramaram', directed by Blessy.

Mohanlal is singing the song "Annaarakannaa vaa poovaalaa…" in the movie. The song is written by Anil Panachooran and set to tune by Mohan Sithara, was recorded recently at Mohanlal's own Vismaya Studios. The song "Annaarakannaa vaa poovaalaa…" is one with a folk base.

Bhoomika is doing the heroine role of Mohanlal. Other than Mohanlal and Bhoomika, it's Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Suresh Menon, Muralikrishnan and Baby Nivedhitha who are in the key roles in 'Bhramaram'. The film will present Mohanlal as a lorry driver travelling through the high ranges of Kerala. The film is heard to be a thriller and will be director Blessy's first attempt for such a thriller movie. The film is produced by Raju Mallaickal under the banner of Ragam Movies. The movie will be released by june 25th.

Mohanlal as teacher in Ganitham

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal will don the role of a village school teacher in film editor-turned-director Jeemon Ayarkunnam's debut directorial venture Ganitham, produced by Ruben Gomas under the banner of R.G. Entertainment.

According to initial reports, the film will start rolling in a couple of months. More details about its cast and crew members are expected to be announced soon.

Meanwhile, Mohanlal has just completed the shooting of his portions in versatile actor Kamal Haasan's prestigious bilingual Unnai Pol Oruvan (Ee Nadu in Telugu), a remake of the critically-acclaimed Hindi film A Wednesday. Directed by debutant Chakri, the film has Mohanlal essaying the role of Anupam Kher in the origianl.
